FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
What does refurbished actually mean?
Every calculator we stock goes through a strict multi-point inspection process. We check the screens for dead pixels, clean out the battery terminals, overhaul the solar panels, and test every single button for responsiveness. If any electronics need replacing we fix, modify, or replace them. They are completely cleaned and sanitized, restored to pristine working condition so they look and perform like a new retail unit.
Do these calculators come with a warranty?
Yes, every calculator purchased from our store comes with a comprehensive three month warranty. If anything stops working or fails under normal study and exam use within that time, we will repair or replace the unit for you.
Will the calculator have writing or scratches on it?
Because these are genuine pre-owned devices, some units may show minor cosmetic wear like light surface scratches on the outer casing or slide-on cover. We have 4 condition tiers to pick from depending on what condition of calculator you're looking for.
Are batteries included?
No, unfortunately we can't include batteries with our non-rechargeable calculators. Australia Post classifies batteries as dangerous goods, which means any parcel containing them is legally restricted to road transport only. By shipping our calculators without batteries, we can avoid significant shipping delays and use standard or express air transport to get your calculator to your door as quickly as possible.
Exam and Curriculum Compliance
Are these calculators allowed in official school exams?
Absolutely. We only source authentic, state-board-approved models from trusted manufacturers like Casio and Texas Instruments. While rules vary by state on the exact calculator, we stock for VCE, HSC, WACE, QCE, or SACE assessments. We highly recommend speaking to your school to confirm which calculator is required in your school and state.
How do I know which model my child needs?
We recommend checking your school's booklist or syllabus guidelines, as requirements vary by state and math subject. For grades 7-10, the Casio fx-82AU is the standard choice across Australia. For upper-school advanced math pathways, states like Victoria and Western Australia require a CAS calculator like the Casio ClassPad, while other states utilize specific graphing or scientific models.
